In this procedure, the protruding part of the intestine or fatty tissue from the groin area is returned to its normal location and the weakened muscle wall is strengthened. The goal of this procedure is to prevent complications such as intestinal obstruction and restore normal abdominal muscle function.
Postoperative Care:
Patients should take prescribed pain medication, avoid lifting heavy objects, and follow a soft diet. Swelling or redness at the incision site should be reported to the physician.
Outcome:
Full recovery usually occurs within 1–2 weeks. Recurrence rates are less than 2% with modern mesh-based techniques.
