IPD : IPD  چیست؟

IPD مخفف عبارت International Patient Department، به معنای بخش بیماران بین‌المللی است.
گردشگری سلامت یا مدیکال توریسم به معنای سفر به قصد دریافت خدمات درمانی و سلامت یا تندرستی می باشد.  ایده اولین سفرهای درمانی زمانی به ذهن بیماران رسید که شهروند یک کشور به دلایلی مانند نبود امکانات پزشکی مورد نیاز یا هزینه بالای یک جراحی خاص تصمیمی هوشمندانه گرفتند که برای درمان و دریافت خدمات پزشکی به کشورهای دیگر سفر کنند.

گردشگری سلامت در ایران ﺑﻪ ﺷﯿﻮه ﮐﻨﻮﻧﯽ، نخستین بار در سال ۱۳۸۲ مورد توجه وزارت بهداشت، درمان و آموزش پزشکی کشور قرار گرفت و یک سال بعد نظر سازمان میراث فرهنگی، ﺻﻨﺎیﻊ دﺳﺘﯽ و ﮔﺮدﺷﮕﺮی را به خود جلب کرد. در همان سال اولین قدم‌ها برای توسعه‌ی مدیکال توریسم در ایران برداشته‌ شد. با پتانسیل قابل توجهی که ایران در همه‌ی انواع گردشگری سلامت اعم از پزشکی، تندرستی و طبیعت‌درمانی دارد، در همین چند سال گذشته پیشرفت چشم‌گیری داشته‌ و دستاوردهای بسیاری کسب کرده‌است.
